One of my favorite sounds has always been the sound of a child laughing. There is nothing better than that deep full belly fall off your chair laughter.
I have another favorite sound. The sound from somewhere in the classroom that goes something like this, "Oh!! Now I get it!" I'm not sure who smiles bigger at that, the student or the teacher. The fun part about it is that when you hear those words and quickly scan the room, the other students smile too. For everyone knows that feeling, especially in math class. That feeling that no matter how many times you tell me, I just don't get it. Then all of a sudden a switch flips. The light comes on, the smile spreads across the face, and the eyes light up - "I get it!"
No matter the age, the reaction is always the same - smiles all around.
